House Hockey

New User Registration Tutorial

Welcome to our website! In order to gain access to all the features, we require our new users to register. To make the process as seamless as possible, we've created a tutorial to guide you through the registration process. We highly recommend following it to ensure a smooth experience.

Parents will create an account on the Crossbar platform

Navigate to the Leagues > Winter House Hockey menu

Complete the following section with your player's name.

Enter your player's USA Hockey number for 2023-24. If you haven't registered yet, click the link to navigate to the USA Hockey website and register your player. Take note to write the number down to enter it into our site.

Enter your player's house address.

The next step is especially important. Starting at 10u, Amherst Youth Hockey will be capping the number of goalies at 10u, 12u and 14u. Please be sure your player is committing to playing goalie the entire season before selecting that option. If you have any questions, please email the house VP, Dave Hayman at ayhhousevp@gmail.com.

Be sure to complete all fields. Including the discount code before the expiration on 6/4/2023. Also, if you're interested in coaching click here to fill out our application.

Complete registration by selecting your program.

When

Evaluations:

You will be contacted in early September regarding on-ice evaluations. They are usually held a week before the season starts.

The Novice and Micron programs do not hold evaluations. These programs will begin in early October.

Ice Times:

Ice times are typically twice a week. At the beginning of the season, there are usually two practices per week; later in the season, there is one practice and one game. The exception to this rule is the Mite level, they are on the ice 3 days a week: once during the weekend and both days on the weekend.

Extra Costs

 Team Assessments:

Individual Teams may ask for a small assessment to cover the costs of Team parties, Canadian Friendship Tournament, Top Gun Tournament, gifts, etc., all for the player's benefit.

Where

The Amherst Youth Hockey House League will be played at the Northtown Center in Amherst, NY. Teams will both practice and play games at that location. It is possible that some teams may play independent games against other organizations.

TEAM SELECTION

Team Selection Guidelines:

Selection of House teams will be made after each player has been rated on the ice. Teams will be built by spreading out talent even across teams.

Fine Print

Your registration is not complete until your fee is paid in full, or you are on an approved payment plan (contact AYH president for confidential payment arrangements).

Registration Payments:

A $25 returned check fee will be assessed for returned checks. This fee will need to be paid before the player returns to the ice.

No player will be allowed to practice or participate without full registration fee payment prior to the due date, and receipt of all fully completed registration documents.

No player will be allowed to play outside their respective USA Hockey Age Grouping (unless they receive written AYH Board and USA Hockey Approval). All ages are based on CALENDAR YEAR.

No player will be registered without all the above conditions being met. Registration may become limited based on ice and team availability. If this occurs, eligibility will be determined by the date of registration of all required information, and payment in full.

All registrations will be based on AYH Program availability only.

Registration is based on a first come-first serve basis, so register as soon as the AYH online Registration is available.

You will receive an e-mail receipt.

Team Placement:

Teams may play in area leagues against other organizations, and not necessarily only at the Northtown Center.
